EU clears €100 mln boost to Portuguese aid scheme for carbon cost compensation

The European Commission on Wednesday approved a €100 million budget increase to Portugal’s state aid scheme compensating energy-intensive companies for higher electricity costs linked to carbon pricing under the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS).
