US lawmakers revive bill to create 10 Mt/year federal carbon removals market

US lawmakers have introduced legislation that would require the Department of Energy (DOE) to procure up to 10 million tonnes of CO2 removals annually from 2036 onwards, creating what would become one of the world's largest long-term government-backed markets for engineered CDR.
