Global AI governance leaves out enabled emissions via fossil fuel use -report

Framing AI’s net climate impact as a trade-off between the energy it consumes, and the emissions it helps avoid, leaves out billions of tonnes of potential emissions if it’s used to amplify productivity in fossil fuels alongside renewables, according to new research.
