EU ETS changes increase emissions by 2.9 bln tonnes, but with ‘marginal’ impact on competitiveness -analysis

Proposed changes to the EU carbon market could lead to an extra 2.9 billion tonnes of emissions by industries covered by the emissions trading system (EU ETS) between now and 2050, according to analysis published by research institutes working closely with the Dutch government.
