Pending EU laws will clarify ETS contribution to 2040 climate target, official says

The full picture of how the EU will meet its 2040 climate target – including the scale of emissions cuts expected in sectors covered by the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) – will become clearer once Brussels presents remaining sectoral legislation later this year, a European Commission official has said.
