ANALYSIS: Nearly half of MEPs represented by groups opposed to EU ETS free allowance extension beyond 2034

The majority of MEPs are represented by parties which reject the EU Commission's decision to extend the phaseout of free allocations to 2038 - with the European People's Party (EPP), Socialists & Democrats (S&D), Greens, and The Left blocs all stating in recent amendments to the Commission proposal that they would not support the measure.
