South Carolina court dismisses Charleston ‘Big Oil’ climate lawsuit

A South Carolina court has dismissed the City of Charleston’s climate liability lawsuit against more than a dozen fossil fuel companies, ruling that the claims are precluded by the federal Constitution and preempted by federal law.
