EU still pushing to seal 2040 climate goal, NDC ahead of COP30

Despite recent setbacks, the European Commission is still aiming to strike a deal on the EU’s 2040 climate target and its updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) under the Paris Agreement before the COP30 summit in November, a senior EU source said on Monday.
