Electrifying US industrial heat could cut up to 1.3 bln tonnes CO2 by 2050 – study

Electrifying low- and medium-temperature industrial heat in the US could reduce cumulative climate pollution by between 930 million and 1.3 billion tonnes of CO2 equivalent by 2050, with the largest near-term opportunities in states including California, Washington, and New York, according to an academic roadmap published on Monday.
