The European Parliament's lead negotiator on the Emission Trading System (ETS) reform is proposing to slow the annual pace of emission cuts after 2030, and to strengthen a mechanism to prevent carbon price swings – arguing that the changes would give industry more certainty without weakening the EU’s long-term climate objectives.
