Euro Markets: EUAs edge higher despite worries over political intervention, demand destruction

European carbon prices rose modestly on Thursday, following an early jump, then spending much of the session lurking around unchanged territory, before a late surge of buying, as traders fretted about the possible impact of rising EUA prices on political negotiations over ETS reform, with the Parliament's leading market lawmaker set to unveil their proposal on Friday.
