Lead Parliament negotiator deletes CORSIA exemption ‘inconsistency’ from EU ETS proposal

The European Parliament's lead negotiator for the revision of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), Peter Liese, has removed from his draft report an 'inconsistency' stating that airlines flying to countries that are applying the UN’s carbon offsetting scheme CORSIA would be exempt from surrendering ETS permits for those routes.
