EU urged to use carbon pricing to tackle waste incineration overcapacity

Europe has almost 65 million tonnes of unused waste incineration capacity, yet plans are under way to build or expand plants capable of burning at least another 8 Mt, according to a new study, as campaigners urge the EU to use its carbon market to curb further expansion.
